Almost out of food here in the C.P.[1]  Hope we get some help soon.

The weather has to break soon or its T.S.[2] for us.

Everyone is really browned off[3] now and mad as hell now

The convoy of Quartermasters Co., Ordanaces Co., and the Medic’s were on the way in from Mourmelon with lots of supplies when the Jerries caught them.  That was two days ago.[4]

But we fast found out today what happened to them from

  4. The 101’st hospital unit and accompanying convoy was captured by a German reconnaissance mission while they were en route to Bastogne near Sprimont.  News of the capture was reported by nine men from the 28th Division who had escaped from a German roadblock.  Captain Robert J. MacDonald of B Company was assigned to destroy the barricade.  When B Company arrived they discovered American vehicles inflamed and surrounded by Germans.  B Company retaliated by killing 50 Germans but it was too late for the Hospital unit and convoy.
